Our Programs

Our Programs

Nakujali Foundation is committed to providing holistic programs designed to support refugee women and children in Nakivale, empowering them to heal, grow, and rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Our initiatives address immediate needs and foster long-term growth, ensuring refugees have the tools they need to overcome adversity and thrive in their new environment.

Yoga & Trauma Healing

Trauma is an inevitable part of the refugee experience, profoundly affecting mental and emotional well-being. At Nakujali Foundation, we recognize the healing power of yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises as essential tools for trauma recovery. Our Yoga & Trauma Healing program offers refugees a safe and supportive environment to heal, regain emotional balance, and manage stress. Sessions are held in schools, villages, and refugee settlements, where participants can reconnect with their bodies, cultivate inner peace, and rebuild resilience. This program not only addresses the immediate mental health needs of refugees but also fosters long-term emotional well-being and personal strength, helping individuals to regain control over their lives and find hope in their future

Education Support

We believe that education is a powerful tool in breaking the cycles of poverty and displacement that refugees face. The Nakujali Foundation’s Education Support program provides vital resources to refugee children, ensuring they have access to the education they deserve. Through scholarships, school supplies, and additional learning opportunities, we help children overcome the challenges posed by displacement and limited resources. Our goal is to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to build a brighter future, contributing to their personal growth and the development of their communities. By prioritizing education, we aim to empower the next generation of refugees with the tools they need to succeed.

Women Empowerment

Refugee women often face disproportionate challenges, from economic hardships to social and cultural barriers that limit their opportunities for independence and self-sufficiency. Nakujali Foundation is dedicated to empowering these women by offering skill development programs, vocational training, and income-generating opportunities. We provide a range of training in areas such as tailoring, small business management, and artisanal crafts, allowing women to acquire marketable skills and achieve financial independence. Through these programs, we help women regain a sense of purpose and agency, enabling them to support their families and contribute to their communities. Our vision is to create a future where refugee women are not only survivors but leaders, transforming their lives and communities for the better.

Basic Needs Assistance

Upon arrival in refugee settlements, many refugees have little more than their survival instincts to rely on. Nakujali Foundation ensures that their basic needs are met by providing essential supplies such as food, clothing, hygiene products, and yoga mats. These items help to stabilize their immediate living conditions and allow them to focus on rebuilding their lives. Providing for their basic needs is an essential first step in the journey toward self-sufficiency and recovery. Our Basic Needs Assistance program not only alleviates the most pressing challenges refugees face but also fosters a sense of security and dignity as they begin their new lives

Unity-Building Games

Rebuilding a sense of community is crucial for refugees as they adjust to new environments and experiences. Our Unity-Building Games program promotes social connections, emotional healing, and community integration through sports and games. By fostering teamwork, communication, and mutual support, these activities provide refugees with opportunities to connect with others and rebuild a sense of belonging. Unity-building games are more than just fun—they are a vital component of social cohesion, helping refugees process their trauma, gain confidence, and find joy in shared experiences. This program plays a crucial role in improving the mental health of participants and promoting a supportive community atmosphere where refugees can heal together.
